Which firmware does the Studio-V come preinstalled with? I just received mine today, and am not sure which firmware is present. blink.gif

Doesn't come installed with a firmware, you have to choose between the two, and then install it yourself.

So if/when I've installed the firmware, is there a way to remove it, or revert to the (non-firmware) stock configuration? Also, I'm assuming I need to contact service@hisoundaudio.com for any and all firmware files, correct?

Honestly, I don't know. I don't use Windows so when I tested it out I simple went with the sound that I was hearing out of the device, not the firmwares that came with the device.

Well, the Studio-V does have a FW installed otherwise it wouldn't really work wink_face.gif

There's links posted out in the HSA forum with their latest updates, for the Dynamic and BA versions.

I have been trying to get hold of the default FW, so users can revert back, but so far no luck, but if I do get it I will upload it.

Okay, just received the default/stock FW.

I will create a download link in the HSA forum, later. So this means you can revert back to original FW with the Studio  if/when you get tired of the BA/Dynamic firmwares.

EDIT: there we are...

Much more convenient placing all the FW's in their own thread, great work.

Thought I'd shed some light pertaining to this mysterious HDMS function, which I too was curious to learn of:

i2ehan: Can you explain to me what HDMS is?
Jack fu: it means high quality sound signaature out put
Jack fu: under this mode, it can work as the preamp+ sound sources for the extrenal earphone amp or desk top amplifier
Jack fu: if you have external system, such as home system,
Jack fu: with the HDMS function, it can replace the general CD player+ DAC.
Jack fu: YOU Can have a try, the sound quality out of the HDMS is really amazing. and incredible.

Since I currently only use the Studio with my EX1000/Miracle, I've no practical use for the HDMS function. Though I'm sure others might, and it never hurts to have it there if ever it's needed. smile.gif

Yes it can. The regular firmware is more limited but once you update the firmware you should have no issues using a 32GB micro SD card (not full size SD). And I must say this device is amazingly good. It definitely sound better than the Hifiman 601 and it sounds way better than the T51/Sflo2 IMO.

That don't make sense at all what you just said? I'm sure it comes standard with the Dynamic firmware. But Jack has created an updated version to fix some of the compatibility issues.

The stock firmware is already uploaded to the firmware thread, courtesy of Jack.

I think I'm using the updated version of the firmware. How can we tell though to just make sure? I notice there a a couple songs here and there that have a question mark in front of them and won't play. This is from my 32GB Micro SD card with all flac loaded on it Not sure what the solution is to this though... I'm curious if I originally had the BA firmware installed because initially I was not impressed at all unlike I am now (very much so :).

Go to Settings > Ver Infor

I'm running the latest dynamic firmware, and am also experiencing the question mark on a few albums I'm not able to play at all, MP3 format too. confused_face_2.gif

Try to delete playlist and system folder.
