Do you know the exact replacement earpad model that fits the he500's? Or can you provide a link... there are like 30 different earpads to choose from on the beyerdynamic website!

I got these: DT990 Velours (black): http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/hah/spare-parts/ohrmuschelsatz-14.html

Is there a difference between the 990 and 770 pads?

Well the ones I have are made of a completely different material but they all fit the same. I did try the stock DT880 pads as well but didn't like it as much.

How are these velours compared to the stock ones? Is it worth buying or not?

They are a lot thicker than the stock pads. I thought it was worth it.

I find the cups to be a bit finicky but not uncomfortable. The one thing I do wish was better is the headband. It rests at the same spot the whole time and after a few hours I start to feel a bit of discomfort. Has anyone tried modifying the headband on these things?

After a few hours you just start to feel a bit of discomfort? Take a break.

Yep, double sided tape. Not as slick looking as I would like but very comfortable
