good,I like the lighter HE-6 cable as I don't even notice it. The HE-500 are being used balanced right now.

T1 with WA2 is anything but clinical

It sounds like the T90s are a little brighter and less intimate but good otherwise, I imagine they'd perform better with rock and classical genres from what you've described.

The Corda Classic would provide sufficient power, right Lloyd?

Should be more than most people consider "enough".

  • Maximum output current: 500 mA / channel
  • Maximum gain factor: 4,9 x (+14 dB)
  • With a source signal of 2V rms the limiting factor normally is the gain factor. Maximum output voltage becomes 9,8 V rms.
  • At 600 Ohm: 160 mW / channel
  • At 300 Ohm: 320 mW / channel
  • At 50 Ohm: 1.9 W / channel
  • At 30 Ohm: 3.2 W / channel

How would you compare the lyr, mjolnir and soloist for driving your hifimans?

I don't have mjolnir, but for me Burson Conductor > lyr/bifrost,  but not by a lot (with the right tubes)

Haven't heard the Lyr or Mjolnir paired with the HE-500

But I owned the Soloist for a good amount of time, and I wasn't all that impressed with the HE-500 paired up with it.

You're using the emotiva speaker amps now?

Yup. I was the first person with the emotiva. When I purchased it, it was really for my HE-6. I found the Little Dot MKVI+ didn't quite do it justice so I jumped on the emotiva. Found the emotiva out performed the Little Dot MKVI+ in just about every category with orthodynamics.

I'm interested in trying the emotiva speaker amps too...but I've read that there is a hissing noise when you use them?

Yea that's a tricky one to figure out. My noise floor shows up only when there's no music playing and I turn the volume up pretty far. The place I have to put the volume to hear a noise floor with no music playing is far far louder than I would ever listen to.

I've got a voltage transformer and a power conditioner in my power line though. I think a lot of the people hearing the noise floor are plugging into wall directly, so that might be a factor. Either way, adding 75ohm resistors for me pretty much eliminates all noise floor. Maybe I should make a guide on making an adapter for this amp with resistors :/
