HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening. . - Page 450

sigh,

I do want speakers too actually lol It just seems like for a decent pair of speakers, I'm going to have to invest in a lot than I can afford at the moment. I don't even know what kind of speakers I would want too :(

You actually stated what I've been thinking about the HD800s hahah I would like to own them one day, but I'm not sure about their price tag at the moment. When I first got into head-fi they were priced around 1k but after Sennheiser's price tab ordeal it just seems like a lot to swallow at 1.5k

Maybe when I have more money saved up and a stable job.

iono, I'm still very confused to be honest. Not exactly sure what I want. Some days I want to keep my He-500, and some days I feel like I should just try to sell everything and settle. I think its when I see my schiit stack, I see the journey that I went through to get where I am now. I bought the dacand amp one at a time. (after some saving up through each piece) And a part of me feels like I should try to get some headphones to use the Lyr to its full potential?

I haven't had time to critically listen, but when I do I really enjoy the HE-500s. I'm just a lost and confused boy lol

Not necessarily true regarding a good speaker setup, if you look for something vintage.  See if you can find a pair of Celestion 3 near field monitors.  Of everything I've heard, they are by far the best bang for your buck.  Pair them with a good mid-range vintage amp, and baby...you got a stew goin' cool.gif

There is a pair on Ebay currently, but they're in not the best shape.  I imagine it's just cosmetics, but you may have to keep an eye out for a better kept pair to pop up.  Also, check out usaudiomart.com - it's basically a big audio craigslist.

Sorry to bust ur bubble and being totally oftopic..concerning ur points:

Medical insurance free? I wish!!: my costst: 300euros a month..thats 400usd for two people (kids until 16 are insured for free)

Few examples how ' cheap' my country is:

Gas and electricity: 180 euros (240usd) a month
Water: 10 euros a month
Car taxes: 169 a month
And so on and on..
Example Rent for a appartment of 80m2: between 800 euro and 1000 (if u happen to earn more then 35000euros bruto a year)..and i am not even speaking about the housing in the centre of the city!!

Most higher education jobs (like mine) do 40-60hours a week..depending the projects. And i even work the xtra hours without being paid extra! Its all in the job..only the km's for travel i get paid in full..or gas..

Higher education for less or no costs?? Ur kidding right? That time is over man...nowadays poor people (people who earn less then 35000 euro) sometimes dont even have the money to let their kids study...or hope for some kind of scholarship..its just as bad as in states bro!!!

Holiday: 5weeks in a year..and u cant take any days thats left to other years!

Paid child birth leave...can u pls tell me what country does that in europe as i am going to emigrate there...u only get a few days off..and then u can work less hours..and only in first year they compensate..yes compensate..not 100%! For the hours u dont work...after that..work work work..

Unemployment benefits...where??? I had been unemployed last year for a few months..and all they did was bugging me to find a job or else they would cut my unemplyment fee!!! No help..everything is done by internet..the ****ers!! And after a year of unemployment ur forced to take any ****ty job they find for u..even if u have a degree in economics..if they find a job in garbage..u have to accept it..or else no money for ur family!!

Extended sickleave..what rock u have been living under?? U know europe is in a crisis right?? I had a friend loose his job because he was sick many times....and most companies dont pay u the first two days of sickleave!!

Early retirement leave..well...i dont know with u..i have to work until age 67 until my retirement..or else they cut my pension!

Nice example..if u buy a camaro its costs u guys 30.000usd right? Here it costst 80.000 euros (thats 106.000usd!!) i have friends who even go on holiday to the states to buy premium brand stuff..they take a empty suitcase with them that comes back full....yes..even with the price of the tickets its cheaper to buy premium brands there then here!!!

Even worse.. I Pay 52% procent for taxes on my gross salary..can u imagine!!!..my total salary is halved because of taxes!!

And i can go on and on...

So pls...explain what we have better then u guys....u guys in the states are always complaining that u guys have it so bad....i dont understand that!!! We all have the same hard times in this crisis...some have it better then others..

.but pls... Dont start with how good we have it in europe....i think a person who earns around 70000 usd a year brutto...(thats avarage salary in the netherlands..being 50.000euro)..has a better life then living in the netherlands...

In short.... I start to understand why some americans are so angry on us europeans...as most of it is based on wrong or antiquated information!!

Even our own customs **** us because of ur goverments agressive export actions...we have to pay 35% over everything we buy from the states (incl.postage)...for everything above 35euros!!
And u guys can almost buy everything u want without paying for customs...lucky basterds!

So tell me....what do we have thats so great compared to what u guys have in the US..?

I live there currently, but I'm a Jamaican citizen. I'm in Jamaica for a couple of weeks, and everything here costs almost double, and even my on campus student wage job pays far more than minimum wage in Jamaica. I literally make more in one day than minimum wage earning Jamaicans make in a week.

Craziness.

My country partially lives up to how europe was described. Don't really wanna go in details and derail the thread too much.
