30 % is the amount of taxes i have to pay when i buy stuff from the states above i think 40 euros or so...the stealing basterds..the customs i mean ofcourse biggrin.gif

So i would get my stuff taxfree then..with the 30 % off.. wink.gif

Hey guys, I just got my HE-500's yesterday and have to say I am verry happy :) but I want more! I am currently using an O2 amp/ODAC connected to my Macbook Pro for listening...any upgrade recommendations that is not too expensive?

ok, so apart from eliminating the microphonics, can you please share what else the benefits of having a more decent cable than the stock SPC white cable ?

Nice. I might pick up a second one later on. Maybe in December again to get the holiday discount.

Using an emotiva mini-x with my HE-500. Sounds great!

Build quality of the cable. The stock cable is poorly assembled and has the potential to break very easily. Good cables are much more robust.

The Silver Dragon was my experiment to see if there really is a difference in sound between cables. I went into it with no expectations or preconceptions. I found no difference in the sound.

If I could do it again, I would probably get the Blue Dragon as it has the same great build quality but is considerably less expensive.

You could always make your own cable as well. About $10 in parts (and some time) will get a good quality cable.

another honest post.  Thx for your sincere response about cable.  If you know exactly the purpose you buy sub cable for then $ is not a concern and you don't need to make up justifications.

Fang needs to seriously call up Emotiva and strike up a partnership. The min-X was clearly built for the HE-500. It tightens up that flabby bass so it's tight as a drum. The HE-500 is just EXPLOSIVE on the Emotiva, dynamic range is just insane: L3000.gif

If they released a similar model (even with 30wpc @ 8ohm) that had variable gain settings and a front headphone jack, they'd be selling them like hotcakes and they don't even realize it!

Yup. Agreed. Not LCD-2/3 tight but very pleasant, sometimes even more. If they sell Emotiva with two or three gain settings, single ended and balanced headphone input, this could be the next best budget headphone amp. Also, it'd be nice to have two inputs at the back instead of one and two speaker outs instead of one. I like the Marantz amps as well for this and their sound.

Yea, exactly. Seemed to have miss reading this completely.
