That's just buyer's justification talking cos you realise the point of diminishing returns kicks in at about $500 ;-)

I'm a bit worried you're going to try and steal my Meier stack now.

If anyone is interested in the Meier Daccord or Meier Classic for the HE500's I highly recommend them. Well built, lot's of features, wonderful sound.

I would go as far to say the Meier Corda Classic amp is hard to beat by anything else under $1000, The Talisman T-33 used to be the GOAT amp under $1000 but god knows where that disappeared to.

I agree. I don't understand why Schiit gear gets so much praise and Meier is forgotten in this thread; although I am not a tube fan by any stretch of the imagination.

He was giving me stick because I sold him my NFB10SE cheap and spent a lot more money to get the Meier gear.

Just as an aside...

Do you think the Beyer T1s would compliment the HE500's? I've been thinking of splurging on some of them next.

Yeah, why shouldn't it? I would rather have the hd800, though.

That's almost a $600 difference over here in Aus - I know what you mean though

I went down to the local headphone store where I live with the intention of buying either the LCD2 or T1's.....after auditioning them all, I walked out with the HE-500. I think after these headphones, you are just looking at small amounts of quality increase in certain genres.

Yeah I'll go with the HD800 as well.  However, T!s get a love / hate kinda response.  I enjoy them myself.

I see the T1 as a solid headphone that does most things well. A bit like the HE-500, but with a different approach.

No surprise here. I'm quite certain that majority of the people here that were to audition between the LCD-2 and HE-500 for a little while would pick HE-500. It's the most attracting to listen to. Can't comment on T1 at all, haven't heard it. Although living with both for months, I would think that the ratio would definitely change from all the initial favouritism towards the HE-500. I remember getting my mind blow by theHE-500 the first time I tried it - not to mention it was all the way burned in, despite using a Fiio E10 as an amp.
