Thanks, was the company ok to deal with?

I've got to say that the more time I spend with these cans/amp the more I like them. I've been listening so much lately that I'm behind on stuff I need to get done. I guess it's a good problem to have.

Just ordered a Lyr. This will be my first time trying tubes. Definitely looking forward to seeing how it pairs with the HE-500.

I didn't like the HiFiMan silver cable and prefer using the canare cable I have so I'd prefer to have a similar cable with balanced termination.
Toxic cables maybe? They now also have a singapore reseller now. Check their appreciation thread..

but ofcourse there are other good brands some more expensive then others..but not all quality is the same! But u haveto find that out urself i guess...biggrin.gif

In my opinion a good copper cable (litz 2 stranded) pairs well with the he500....

Sell your 500s and get Preproman's which are hard wired with Norse Audio 4-pin XLR cable!

I got his 5LEs that came with a similar (the same?) cable and I dig them big time! No more connector on the shoulders, very sturdy cable and nice feel & flexibility.

As for the pairing with the 500s: if you find it too slow or dark, get yourself a pair of 5LEs!

I should suggest kingwa to build an all-in-one box with the Sabre DAC & Diamond Difference AMP. The NFB-27+SA-31 is just awesome! I would like to see a Compass 2 SA...

I'd be down for a Compass 2 SA too.

I've decided to get a nice copper cable with XLR termination for my HE500's but it won't be for a few weeks as I don't know whether I'll keep the NFB10SE or sell it on and spring for something else biggrin.gif

You fool!!! ;-)

Well, if you don't already have a XLR cable, you won't hear the NFB-10SE to its full potential. The snake is biting its own tail here :D

I have the asgard2 but the lyr is calling my name would there be a big difference on the he500 with standard tubes. These pages are killing my wallet

I like it! I think that there are probably better amps than the Magni for the HE-500 and better DACs than the MSii+. That said, the Magni drives them in a way the E9 and O2 do not. The O2 is especially unforgivably bad. In my opinion. However there are too many people here that disagree with me regarding the O2 for you to consider only my opinion. Furthermore, the Magni is actually a CHEAPER amp than the O2, so I don't want you to think that I'm employing some sort of equipment elitism or snobbery when I hold forth with my opinion.

I didn't hear much improvement over my Fostex HP-A3 through my O2, and hence I sold it, then I sold the Fostex... and now I have an Audio GD NFB-10SE on the way to see if more power will make a difference; so I'll soon see if I agree with you about the O2 not having enough power.

This really is the best way! I have a tendency when I argue to sound as though my opinion is THE opinion. It's an aggressive way of arguing that doesn't sit well with many people, but it often produces an aggressive counter-argument that more readily shows up any flaws in my own position. Still, it comes across as very hard-headed and heavy-handed. I wish I knew a better way to provoke a more honest and impolite counter-view but people will be gentle with your opinions if you don't invite harsh criticism. They will let you hang on to your cherished but possibly mistaken view for far too long.

More power =/= better. More quality power is though. From memory the balance out of the 10SE is a bit bright/lean sounding; the SE is more warm but fuzzy sounding. Don't expect too much tongue_smile.gif

The DAC itself is nice though.
