My guess too.
dac : schiit modi multibit
amp : project Ember with a 6N23P produced at  voskhod form 1978 with Silver shield.
(more tubes are on the way)

Some people tell me to go for something more powerfull ... like Topping TP60 + HE-Adapter ... other peopls says project ember is ok.

Pick up a brand new Emotiva a100 for $200. Run it full power into your 500s. If you don't like it return it.

Oh **** !!

I've set my project Ember to low ouput impedance : there is so much power in my can !

Well so good.

Reporting back. A friend made a makeshift cable for me, and it doesn't have the outrageous bass of the stock cable. Which is great. Gotta buy a good cable I guess.

As for my original complaints, can't reproduce them now. "Runaway" sounds ok with the stock cable too.
