Or maybe he's enjoying some MJ. Stan, if you lived close by.... I would've helped you out with this "time" issue of yours B)

Anyways, with Persian new year coming up I expect to rake in some $$
Some will be fire MJ I'd say, but I can use a lot of it towards either upgrading my current rig or toward getting BS speakers. Decisions decisions...

Can someone recommend a good SS amp (not very expensive) for the HE-500? Are the speaker amps better than the headphones amps for them?

Auralic Taurus comes to mind. I want to say BHA-1, but holding out on that. Marantz speaker amps pair nicely with HE-500. I like my Marantz over Emotiva for both Audezes and Hifiman. Some like Mjolnir and some don't with HE-500. It might get too bright, which also happens with the Emotiva mini.

Was looking forward to the excitement of the arrival of Stan's new DAC. Instead...crickets

Probably the status changed to deliver tomorrow or worse, train derailment. Either way, he's destroyed his computer by now and cannot post for the time being.

He's strapped on his skis, grabbed his rifle, and is chasing down the FedEx truck in a personal biathlon.  For the FedEx driver's sake, I hope he's a shakey shooter ;)

Still waiting on my mjolnir, but my NFB 1.32 came in, and my god, I wasn't expecting a huge difference just through the ef2a, but it is muuuuch nicer than it's built in USB, I ABed them and it seems to have really enhanced the bass, greater extension and oomph. Sooooo satisfying, I'm salivating at the thought of it with the mjolnir.

I'm normally one to dismiss non repeatable results or ones I can chalk up to psychological, but it's official, not all DACs are created equal. I thought that would be the case but the validation is nice, money well spent.

Cheap and has a bit darker sound and in so could be good for those who dint like brighter sounds and to much treble... I would advice the matrix mstage.. I myself had one..and if the modded 337 didnt come across my road i probably would still have it now! I used him to burn in my he500 24/7. Sounded above expectectations good... Its not the end of detail or musicality..but for 250usd u get lots of amp...i had one for 2years using it daily..and it never disapointed me..veey reliable and built like a tank..and u can experiment with opamp changing!!

Part I

Here's the big update. So ten minutes late, my doorbell rings and I get a package. Hold it, that's not the FedEx man, WTF it's UPS. Damn it my shoes came early. Grrrh,....push that left eye back into the socket...ahhh that's better. Another half hour transpires and then ding ding the thing has arrived. I unpack it, looks nice and them my cellphone crashes and does not reboot. Flipp'in POS dropped dead on me, at a moment that was not convenient to my Bifrost. So before running off to Verizon to get that sorted out, let's give the Bifrost a spin. I download the WIndoze drivers from Schiit's web site. I go to unzip it so I can install it and Norton AV takes a Schitt. It appears that one of the DLL's from Schiit hurt Norton's feelings and it got quarantined. Can anything got to Schiit today? I email Schiit about it, they respond very quickly, they say nothing was wrong. So I install it, the warning from Norton was Medium Severity, Medium Risk about cmelv.dll being WS.Reputation.1 whatever that is. Microsoft's virus scanner had no beef with it, then again Microsoft can't get their Schiit straight. So the first test is

Samsung i7 laptop--->Bifrost--->Vali--->HD600's and it worked, As Nimzerz might say, "that was some good Schiit."

Ok, now I can go to Verizon and get my Galaxy S3 sorted out.

---- To be Continued ----- Yes there's more to the story...

I'm a good shot, excellent grouping with a pistol or rifle. I can skeet shoot (Shotgun) as well.

Glad you got it.  Get rid of Norton and use MS or avast!  Norton... pih!

Enjoy your new toy

That Norton error was explained to me as being triggered simply by the small number of people installing a particular piece of software.  There's nothing "suspicious" about it, other than it isn't "popular"...   How stupid is that?   The go around is just to turn Norton off and reinstall it.  Glad your package finally arrived.

For the latecomers/unaware, I am still accepting orders for a Robinette v3 box. See details in the Robinette Box thread :)

Soon, I go upstairs and drag the Bifrost to it's home. There it will play with the Asgard 2 and HE-500's.
