Thats a high quality rig u have my fellow headfi'er.. It will do perfectly with the he500... But one point..the bass on the lcd 2 goes a bit deeper then the he500.. But for the rest its all u just mentioned u wanted it to have.
Congrats..and happy waiting wink.gif

Anyways, with the He-500's I'll feel that female vocals sound a little recessed due to the lack of mid treble, but male vocals are rendered very well. Listening to Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole and getting a fair share of chills. No lack of detail or air, very clean and full bodied. With jergpads, I can picture the chairman singing in my head.

Wow! congrats Jerg! (just caught up on this thread). You really deserve it. It's nice to see Fang being so generous with those who contribute to this great community.

I hope you continue to help Hifiman improve their products. Good times and happy listening.

Yay, the thread is unlocked :) and yeah Jerg, I was skeptical about how much you really deserved that at first, but now after trying the pads and hearing that SIGNIFICANT improvement, I gotta say, you really do deserve it.

Many people have, and by searching the thread at the top left you might be able to find impressions. However, I do not know from the top of my head how well they worked. I do remember reading that some people were using them permanently tho.

And that they are expensive wink.gif The modulor pads are more affordable.. But as always..its personal taste tongue.gif

To find ur answer..try to search on 'different pads for hifiman' on headfi..there are lots of alternatives..like k701 pads.. But as far i know the modulor sound the most balanced..and are most comfortable..i have to agree..even the custommade pads on my new code-x are not so comfortable on my ears as the modulor were.. But it can be that my ears have a shape thats best for modular pads wink.gif

I need help on relaxing with my now final setup...HE-500 Modulor/Jergpads and grill mod (though I'd like to make custom grills rather than just no cloth stock grills, any recommendations? Anyone know where that guy got the honeycomb style grill?), Modi, Emotiva mini-x a-100

Please.

Someone.

Stop me from thinking about HE-6, HE-560, and anything else!!! lolol

I had an extreme grill mod..check my pics under my profile when u open my profile..my sides were open..i found the grills in a convience store..they were the top of the DIY barbeque/grills that u use for one time only..its the top where u put ur meat on...i threw the rest away and kept the mace..cut it into the right form and voila..a custommade grill..my fingers were bleeding after the mod as the metal was very sharp..lolz...but.as i dont have any problems with dust, moisture and hair in my home i just left the cloth off..and it did wonders on my he500.

Her two pics of my modulor pads and my open grill mod on my he500 that i sold last month to give u an idea how it looks like
