Oh, hold it, aren't you the guy who's spending everyone else's money? C'mon, we know you want one, I'll bet you can get one for less than $1800, brand spank'in new ($1799). You can get your shirt dry cleaned and still have enough moolah for a new amp.:D

Money is no object. He had his amp delivered by naked lady couriers. Maybe when he gets bored with it, he'll give it to me. Maybe I can convince him to upgrade to a pair of Stax SR009's and that he'll need a new amp. Hmm, that's the plan. It'll work, it'll work.

Nah seriously I want the XC as much as you want a better amp than a Asgard 2. Haha. What does the rest of the chain look like for your stock broker buddy? Source? Cans? I'm assuming some expensive stuff?

I wish you could have tried out the WA5, instead of the WA5LE, apparently the WA5 is totally awesome for the HE-500/HE-6, the LE not so much.

So that's the only expensive amp you've heard the HE-500 through? And the rest is just your EE education speaking against expensive amps?

Man you're really trying to bait me, the LE is just one overrated amp that I happened to listen to most recently, a few weeks ago. I guess the WA5-LE isn't good enough for you. By the way putting 38 Ohm HE-500's on the WA5's 10W 8 Ohm speaker taps are not going to get 10W on the HE500's. Also those speaker taps have much more distortion than the headphone connections which deliver the same as the LE. Just more myths wrapped around a more expensive product.

I'd rather have an Asgard 2 than a Woo WA6-SE, it's not about the price tag. Too often a well built decent but overpriced amp causes some folks to have orgasms. Still I would not deny anyone their jollies.

We know you secretly crave a FiiO E06, maybe not.:D

I never said this. In fact I haven't heard the WA5-LE. I just hear chatter around Head-Fi and what I say is true. It doesn't really have a good reputation for planars. It's "okay" according to many, and or "bad" according to others, so probably not the best amp to hang your case on.

By the way putting 38 Ohm HE-500's on the WA5's 10W 8 Ohm speaker taps are not going to get 10W on the HE500's.

I already knew this. Not sure why people on these boards keep trying to "teach" me things that are fairly common knowledge around here. By that same argument your Asgard 2's 1 Watt is also overkill as the HE-500 will not use 1W at your listening volume.

Also those speaker taps have much more distortion than the headphone connections which deliver the same as the LE. Just more myths wrapped around a more expensive product.

Already knew this as well. Just wanted to add that building a good amp isn't only about distortion numbers. Most amps out there have negligible distortion. High distortion amps can sound great like the Vali you own. And low distortion amps like the O2 aren't so great with the HE-500.

I'd rather have an Asgard 2 than a Woo WA6-SE, it's not about the price tag. Too often a well built decent but overpriced amp causes some folks to have orgasms. Still I would not deny anyone their jollies.

Not sure why You're talking about the WA6-SE? I guess you heard this one as well since you're comparing its sound directly to your Asgard 2? If that's the case I believe you man. I'm all ears, tell me what you didn't like about the WA6SE.

We know you secretly crave a FiiO E06, maybe not.:D

Fiio E6?  :confused:man you really like to bring up products left and right that I never talked about. I can see you being interested in something like this if it had good distortion numbers. I usually try to listen to what other people say instead of dismissing their experience as imagination.

Lastly Stan, I'm not trying to "bait you;" so don't get emotional. I find it curious/odd when people slam other people's gear without any experience with them. You might have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, and that's great for you man, but honestly I would rather hear from firsthand experienced acounts of Head-Fiers than someone slamming expensive gear using armchair engineering.

Like I said. If you have lots of negative experience with expensive amps, then please share them. I'm all ears and I will respect your views.

Edit: and please stop bringing up random ass gear. Not sure what's the point of this?

StanD I know you secretly want the Abyss, StanD I know you secretly want the Fiio E18, StanD I think the Lyr is right up your alley. See how annoying that is?

Wow...

Yeah get some sleep man. You obviously need it. :veryevil:

P.S. Buy the E06 soon Stan. You obviously are obsessed with it for some reason. Does it have good distortion/crosstalk numbers or something else you like? This may come as a shock for you so sit down... I'm not interested in the E06 and in fact don't own one. BAM!

OK, I hope you got some sleep too :D I hope you didn't think I was serious about the E06, but if you really like it, who am I to deny you. Chill out dude.

It took you all night to come up with that? Wow... that makes me sad.

You're good at repeating jokes that are not funny and/or you've got mental problems and need treatment. Either way calm down and don't be too emotional. Free counseling can be found in many places in New York so why not take advantage?

Btw, to get back on topic, what amps have you listened to? I know cracking lame jokes is the only way for you to keep dodging this question and I find it pretty sad. So far I got that you own the Vali/Asgard 2 and have a rich stock broker friend who owns as WA5LE, whom you seem to secretly despise because he's richer than you are and can just buy expensive things without appreciating them.

Don't hate your friend for being successful, that's childish. You can always ask nicely and he'll let you play with his expensive toys so you can be less bitter.

StanD vs M-13. And here I thought Broncos vs Seahawks was going to be a good matchup.

ROFL :veryevil:

Let's get back on topic. So who's heard their HE-500 with an E6 (I'm apparently very interested in this amp) and/or have rich stocker broker friends?

Tip: let it go...no matter how hard ur mind and personal experience tells u to go on as u feel (and know?) ur right tongue.gif and go back on topic tongue.gif

Well..i do have some selfemployed pretty loaded peeps who owns cars in the like of R8's AS COMPANY CAR..WTF i said.... I once asked a friend why a audi R8 has to be used as a company car..and the dude (dear friend of mine..!) said..it is good to socialize...well..i saw his latest social win..a girl u would sell ur kidney for to date..

so i think i am going to be selfemployed also..maybe starting a budget brand of amps...Epsilon Audio...and then buy myself a mclaren with shiit dacs in it and emotiva amps and speakers..with that i would be the friend of everyone..heheheeh smart huh?
