Keeping up with the Headfiers.

If you want to learn more about Amsterdam, just ask :D

I just listened to the AKG K501 before letting it go and they really sound awesome with amazing soundstage, but then when you put on the HE-500 it's like "yep that's what I was missing".

Any volunteers?? ;)

I have the same problem as Hifimanrookie, the PC room looks horrid, the rest of the house is spotlessly clean.

Today's posts were quite informative! :D

A Head-Fi meet in Amsterdam, now that would be an event not to miss!

Yeah, the HE-500s seem to have that effect after listening to AKGs ;)

I just need to convince my wife that she wants to visit Amsterdam, and then strategically plan the trip to coincide with a Head-Fi meet :D

"Honey, what's that extra suitcase for? It's pretty heavy."

"That? Oh, you never know what you might need over there."

It's good to see you back on Zoom. Time for me to tempt you into spending money on a crazy DAC. Haha.

Its by far best thread on headfi..period..and the people on it are crazy ass fun to be with biggrin.gif

No more breakdowns and rage quits

My biggest problem is just limited space.. Soon I'll have to buy my gear so that it's stackable, but sorrily none of my gear really match... Yet I don't complain.. 18 and a room that's approx 32 square meters (with sloped walls) -- and my speakers sound gorgeous in this room.

For your information I have thin and bad wires, barely better than normal ac wires, for my speakers. 9 and 7 meters long.. Ohh the horror! Anyone feel like giving me advice on that one??

A place holder space for stuff that you plan to smuggle back home? I tell you, it's not worth it, move to Colorado and be done with it.:D

Yea feels good to be back. Managed to squeeze in some free time today. As far as headphones go, the LCD-3 has been working perfectly (saves me from spending on Stax). Now I only want a closed headphone sometime in the future. Most probably TH-900 (XC doesn't quite intrigue me in the right area...yet). Amps wise, Emotiva's been kicking ass. Maybe a Mjolnir or BHA-1 later on. Although before all that, a DAC is in order. With all other expenses and time, haven't gotten around to listening much on headphones, mostly been using speakers, so it makes sense on that front as well to get a DAC for speakers/headphones vs strictly an amp for headphones.

I know I'm getting a DAC this year, just don't know when. At the minimum, it will be somewhere in the Gungnir/DC-1 range. Could also wait it out and get a M51 or BDA-2, maybe even a used Hilo or PWD. Depends on how much I spend on other things including speakers. Decisions, decisions....:D

Black vs silver. I really wish Schiit and NAD offered their gears in both black and silver.

Schiit had some limited black versions due to an error from their manufacturer.

but not for Mjolnir/Gungnir. It was restricted to their smaller units.

Exciting times ahead it seems. Haha.

I'm personally saving for a DA8 from Yulong. I was somewhat interested in the X-Sabre, but my interest has shifted. As for amps I want a Master 9 from Audio-gd. HE-500/LCD-2 combo is keeping me very happy but I'm always tempted to sell and jump for the LCD-X.
