HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening. . - Page 686

Yes and the Macbook Air! Might actually go for the 500GB version to save some money (70,95 in Apple Store) and then get USB 3.0 128GB flash drive too. Just to be safe. Don't want to lose my music!

If anybody knows a good USB 3.0 stick 128GB with aluminium version to match Schiit and Macbook Air?

Alright gents, I just picked up the mighty v200 for the He500.  This is coming from LF339 running premium tubes.  The V200 is smooth, warm, clean... very very nice and easy to listen to.  More detailed but has the warm tube signature and holds well on complex passages. This unit is brand new as well so should improve as time goes on.  I also got an aftermarket powercord and the MDAC is supplying a balanced signal.

One heck of an amp for the He500!

I've got one of these and it works very well. It comes in black and silver.  Not the cheapest one out there, though.

Corsair Flash Survivor USB 3.0 128GB USB Drive (CMFSV3-128GB)

The round end is too big for my Macbook Air I've read (same goes for Lacie Xtremkey). Macbook Air is too thin for those.

Jergpads by modulor take HE500 up a notch.  Vocals sound thicker and more intimate now.  I was telling Nimzerz that I just ran through Carla Bruni's Comme Si de Rien N'Etait album.  Great sexy vocal!

For some reason ever since I got my new unit (Emotiva) that doesn't have an imbalance, my HE500 sounds much better...

Might just be peace of mind

What can I say, HE500s are terrific drunk-listening headphones - non-fatiguing, warm and powerful sound with decent treble sparkle, it sings at very loud volumes, which is what you'll be listening at when you are absolutely positively smaaaashed.

I'm afraid that right now mine are set a few dB too high for some people. God blessed me with ears that can take it, good thing that modern TV's don't have that high frequency squeal that used to drive me nutz from the older tube TVs. OK, no flames from the tube crowd, this is a TV's horizontil deflection circuit,:D
