Did you remove the pleather completely with the knife, and then replace it with duct tape?
Your covering some of the drivers/magnet/grit thing with duct tape!

All wrong, not even close lol.
Honestly, I gave enough clues away in my previous posts this morning. Keywords "underdamped" "increase the chamber damping" "sharp scissors" "underside of the J$ pads (with photo showing them)" should have been obvious.
You've removed the mesh material and plastic and used tape to fit em??

Did you put duct tape over the opening in the pads(so that your ears press against it) and then poke holes in the duct tape?
No one is getting it still. You're all going around circles with pretty much the same set of wrong ideas (taping the pads to the cup, removing the mounting ring and/or the screen, increasing pad depth, changing pad angle etc).
Looks like I'll have to drop another big hint:
J$ earpads have very good chamber damping despite them being leather, which theoretically does not damp well.
Look closely again at the same photo I gave, and think hard on why they damp so well, and try to apply it to what exactly I did with the pleathers.
Did you get two pairs of pleathers, cut out the tops of one and the bottoms of the other, and then duct tape them together so you have double the depth?
I'm typing out a guide right now for the mod, procrastinating at work
Hopefully I'll be able to finish it later this evening and post it. I dub it "the Jergpad Mod for HE500s", narcissistically. Look out for the thread popping out sometime soon hopefully!
Guess I won't be spoiling what I did haha, not until I post it in full with the upcoming guide thread about it. Until then, sit tight kids!

we dont wanna wait..
You made holes in the pleather pads and used the duct tape for something
