Yep we are a strange bunch..But i found out that listening to music through my phones relaxes me and very strangely makes me rest...also my head clears up of the stress from working (to) hard..i dont know what i should do without my music :xf_eek:

Yea,that's the general consensus of most of the opinions I have herd on this headphone which is EXACTLY what I am looking for.I am going to hang in there for 100 hrs burn time before I make a final decision, really do want to like em,don't want to got through the whole returning process.I previously also had the LCD2.2,should have never sold em,but ideally I would want something just like them with a slight bit more sparkle up top which is what I am hoping the HE500 will provide.

dfarina - please post again after more burn-in and elaborate on the differences... very curious!

Sounds very familiar. Last night I went to sleep wearing my HE-500's and woke up with them on and my playlist still going. It was my Fusion Jazz Marathon Playlist. I think I woke up to Jean Luc Ponty.

That happens to me all the time..as i listen to music on low volume..i fall asleep with one artist on my comfy chair and then my wife wakes me up when she goes to work a few hours later..hehehe

I can sleep from loud music as well, no problem. Especially spekaers, they make me very sleepy.

As a teenager, I developed a habit of falling asleep to music or the TV.

To this very day, I need to have music or the sounds from a familiar TV show or movie to fall asleep.

This is one of the reasons that I decided to create a music server and a video server at home many years ago.  It's easier to select a playlist that will run for hours or choose what TV show or movie from the comfort of my bed via remote control (typically my iPad) rather than selecting individual CD's or DVD's..

Music, tv and other noise 24/7 is not good for your health.. Just saying.

This is getting a little OT, I just want to give you a tip.. You can get melatonin as pills. Much more natural approach than sleeping pills, probably not unhealthy at all.
