Hello there head-fiers!
Intro
I wanted to share the experiences I've made with the Beat Audio Earphone Cable
I got my Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 reshelled (with added mid Drivers) by Unique Melody In November 2010 and am absolutely impressed by the Sound these IEMs deliver and the stunning craftmanship, which is pretty known over here at head-fi.
The "Triple.fi x4" (as it's called by UM lab on the response frequency chart which is shipped with the iem) seemed to sound GREAT with the Cowon J3, the Cube C30,
and an fiio E5 amped LG Optimus 2X with the PowerAMP App.
In February 2011 I was Browsing UM's Site and discovered that they've introduced the new Beat Audio Cable series, which does remind me somehow on the cables which are sold by Null Audio.
I thought I should give it a try and ordered the orange-yellow "Supreme Rhyme" Series Cable with an Sennheiser Plug and non-recessed sockets in default length for 99.99$.
About an week later the Cable arrived at my door via DHL (:
Impressions
The Cable is delivered in an pretty nice looking black cardboard case which has the Beat Audio Logo printed on it. As I took the Cable out of the box I noticed that I could not bend the part of the cable which surrounds the ears, which is a good thing since I've always spent time on getting the pliable wire in the position which felt most comfortable to me.
The cable is very sturdy and top notch in terms of build quality, definately an improvement over the stock UE or Westone Cables. Sound wise there seems to be a very slight bass and treble boost, which may result in making the IEM sound a bit spacier and giving it an bigger soundstage.
The only Issues I have found with the Cable so far is that it has slightly higher microphonics than my Westone custom cable and that it's sometimes a bit too stiff, which can be a problem on the go, so I use the Beat Audio Cable most of the time when I'm at Home when I'm listening to Music in my room.
Conclusion
Im pretty satisfied with my purchase at Beat Audio by UM
and think that the Beat Audio series is a nice addition to all the standard UE and Westone Cables out there. Although it's a bit expensive, i think the price is justified by the Sound, look and overall build quality of the Cable. (:
P.S. I've just registered at head-fi and my English is not the best, but I hope to help some people on their decision to whether purchase something off beat Audio or not ;)
Feel free to ask whatever you want,
I'll post some pictures of the Cable together with my TFx4 in the next days!
