High Sensitivity High Impedance Headphones

Thread Starter

I have an original Earmax headphone amp on the way which is recommended is used with high impedance headphones. Only problem is it is also known for having a rather anemic output level. Are there any such animals as high sensitivity high impedance cans that might work well with the Earmax for producing reasonable sound levels, or am I going to be relegated to low level listening with this amp? Thank you.

I would suggest that You contact SkyLab or Project86, they should be able to clarify this for You or someone else reading this thread might have an answer too.

The Beyerdynamic T1 is very high sensitivity and very high impedance.  I know other users have liked it with the Earmax.

Thank you, Skylab. Those look very interesting. Does anyone know what the options would be under $450 for high sensitivity/ high impedance headphones?

Which version is this?

I also have them (the "original" ones) and these are not at all easy to drive, compared to the T1 using the Concerto amp..

Got my Earmax today. It turns out that it is loud enough for me even with my K240s. I guess most head-fiers most listen pretty loud.
