Do I need a Dac for an IMac, Audioengine P4 and Audioengine N22? - Page 2

Oh well since i feel my experience with my PC audio set up may be of some use to you might as well share it with you tongue_smile.gif

Looking at your P4 + N22 the specs are somewhat similiar to my own set up Polk M3 + TA2020 Tripath amp

Honestly i auditioned and bought it because i brought a few CDs to the sellers house which matches the genre of music i listen most (classic rock, folk, pop) so i liked the sound signature and hey at $30 USD for those Polks i felt it was like the bargain of the year for me hehe They looked dusty and a bit beat up but nothing some TLC and cleaning the drivers couldn't solve wee~

Anyway thanks to the power of free internet radio, i decided to expand my musical tastes and explore a genre i was somewhat clueless namely Classical and i must say just str8 up 2.0 no sub Mozart, Chopin, etc sound fantastic! So IMHO for this genre of music you can get by with half decent bookshelf speakers - also my DAC + Headphone Amp is a simple Fiio E7 (i have the L7 line out kit to feed to speaker amp) Happened to fish out a used/cheap E7 so ....L3000.gif
