Got an old-school Vinyl/Cassette/Radio player from 1987 + CD player for free of dad's friend

I recently got this old stuff, probably not very good as it's schneider but if I get it for free ofc I accept it. For me the amp part is obviously the most interesting one as I could hook up this to my comp by the AUX ports and use the amp. It also has the common balance/treble/bass adjustment knobs which worked reasonably well. I've only tested the radio as I don't have the required cables here at parents place to hook it up to the comp. Since I don't have any amps besides a crappy FiiO E5 as I sold Gary's PA2V2 as I currently don't need any amp due to my easily driven headphones I own for now, this could possibly be useful in the future. It drove my XB500 at very sufficient volume at 1/5 - 1/4 of the max volume so there seems to be quite a bit power if needed.

Model seems to be: SCHNEIDER - POWER PACK SPP 90-1

OK now I've hooked it up to the comp and I actually got positively suprised by the sound quality, brings a noticable sound quality improvement compared to plugging even the very easily driven headphones such as HD212 pro or XB500 to the soundcard directly which are the only ones I'm able to compare with atm and thanks to the bass and treble knobs I might not necessarily even have to EQ the headphones at all.

I've noticed recently that there is something about old audio equipment that just work very well. I recently just got an old Pioneer amp from the 70's that sound very tubey if that makes sense but its a solid state amp. This amp powers my DT880 600ohm so well and gives the phones a more refined sound quality imo, that I no longer find a need to search for a new amp or buy tube amps or even wonder what other headphones would be better sounding, for like maybe a week....

I think I'm going to do more diggin for old audio gear at cheap cheap prices to see what other treasure can be found.

I really want a tape deck now. Something about the sound of a tape that just puts me to sleep in a good way.

Congrats on the free gear!

Yes this one also has a very tubey sound. Doesn't work particularly well with the headphones I got so therefore I have to use quite a bit treble boost on the treble knob, would probably work a lot better with a bit brighter headphones though. Brings the biggest improvement to HD212 pro, warmer, a little bit more midrange and bass sounds more realistic (HD212 pro have quite boomy bass without any amp) and sounds like it would have more "weight" in the music as it's got a V-shaped frequency response.
