anyone know anything about this amp?

just looking around on ebay and found this, it has all the inputs and outputs i could ever want with a hybrid tube amp, it looks very tempting but i cant find anything on it so im hoping someone knows if its good/bad.

It doesn't say what tube it uses or dac. Seems like a crap shoot without more information.

:( its got all the inputs/outputs i want and all but i dont have the money, or patience, to take a chance on a cool looking paperweight.

Or even with more information. I ordered a HP amp/dac from a China seller only to find that one of the caps had been wired the wrong way around and was ready to pop. Whatever the merits of Chinese design, their assembly/construction is not always what it should be.

The Maverick D1 have a very similar design to this amp, but the Xiang Sheng (this one) is much newer. Also, the factory seem to have quite a reputation for good amps for money

For the price it's selling at, PLUS shipping, you might as well buy a Maverick D1 for the exact same price, with the backup that many own the D1 on here, and have good customer support from Ryan of Mav Audio.

I take a dim view of these mystery boxes sold at low prices and with not much information.

There are too many ways to cut corners and play games with quality.

You're better off buying used gear manufactured by known companies.
