My absolute favorite song is It's All Over Now, Baby Blue, by Bob Dylan. It's just so perfectly written, every line in the song is absolutely beautiful. My favorite line in particular is:

"Yonder stands your orphan with his gun, crying like a fire in the sun."

Everyone relates crying to rain, but I've never seen a songwriter relate it to fire. It shows a lot of emotion and intensity.

The whole song is just so absolute, almost devastating, in it's message. It's somewhat forgiving, but harsh, not unlike Like A Rolling Stone. (Another one of my favorites)

I've been exposed to way too much music to have one favorite song (like all of us) but here are a few:

Little River Band - Lady

Moody Blues - Never Comes The Day
best sound I could find

Elton John - Madman Across The Water

Dire Straits - Down To The Waterline

A Canterbury classic.

One song is pretty tough. Even a top 5 would require some serious thought. What part of your life, why, etc. has a big influence on the choices.

Some of my all time favorite songs were from childhood and they would have tenure in selecting the "most" favorite. Then there's the romantic part of life (teens-twenties), spiritual, energy songs, sad songs, reflective songs, jammers, cruising music, etc.

I can't be expected to choose one song.............
