Stupid speaker wire

I have had speaker wire for 4 months, i replaced one for one side for my pair of speakers. The same thing is still happening on my speakers. What should i do? Im thinking of buying some $80-$100 cable and if that doesnt work than its my speakers.

What's going wrong?

I've had great luck with Blue Jeans speaker cables.

I've also been tempted to DIY Home Depot cables - they have a cult following. Pick up some of the heavy duty extension cables and reterminate them for speakers. Durable and would look cool with Techflex on them.

I still don't think it's the cable

The left speaker (im going to switch cables and see if it is my cable, later) is dialing out and will come in and out. I have to move the cable and it would than work, but it would happen again minutes later.

One way to be sure is to swap cables with the other speaker.  It's probably a loose connection at the terminal inside the amp or speaker.

banana plugs are your friend.

If the connectors on the backs of the speakers are the screw-down type, they may be loose, and the wire inside may be frayed or broken.

If the speaker wires have terminations like spades, bananas, or pins, they may not be crimped properly.

How thick is your wire?  Too thin may not make contact, and too thick may damage the connectors physically.

Have you tried another amp?  Other speakers??
