Ipod woes surprise surprise

Well my Itouch second gen is starting to get muffed up. Still in great condition 7/10*two tiny front scratches* but the headphone jack is starting to go. The headphones work find in every other source I have tried them in so I know it's not the cans them self. Does anybody know how to fix this? I believe it is the connections inside the jack becoming bent to flat as that is what the research i have done seems to suggest with the problems I have been having with it. if not I plan to sell if for a reasonable price for a second gen 8gig with box and minimal damage 80$ but if some body has a suggestion to fix it I'm all ears.

replace the jack, generally the ipoids are modular inside and the jack assembly will most certainly be able to be replaced if you are up for it. google your model and headphone jack assembly
