Littlle Dot MK III and IEMs?

I have a Little Dot MKIII on order.  As luck would have it, my old headphones just took a dump.  Unfortunately that leaves me with only a set of IEM's to use with the MKIII until my budget allows me to replace my failed headphones.  Specifically, my IEM's are Bose (I can hear the collective ghasp now) TriPort In Ear headphones.

So, my question to the group is, aside from very so/so sq as a result of the Bose IEM's, will there be any other issues using them with my new amp?

Thanks in advance,

Scot

Well technically its only meant to drive 32 ohm headphones and up, a lot of IEMs are lower then that. I don't know if it would be bad for the amp or not. Might just be harder to drive them with a tube amp like this.

It will be fine.  You may hear more noise from the tubes when they warm up and if you bounce/shake the table due to the lower impedance bringing out the microphonics of the tube.

Thanks for the responses guys.  I wasn't really too concerned about damage to the amp or the head phones.  I was just curious what the audio experience might be.  Sounds like I'm going to need to build up the funds sooner than expected.

edit:  oh yeah, i'm open to headphone suggestions as well.  right my budget limits me to 250.   listening to trip-hop, trance, some punk and fast and bass heavy rock.  I do enjoy some solid bass, but also appreciate detailed highs.  (i know, maybe i should move this to the headphones forum.)

cheers,

scott

With that amp...

Beyer DT990-600 ohm if you spend around 300.

I've ran my westone um3x's off my MKIV SE with no issues. They are sensitive especially when you are playing vinyl but no huge issues

Great.  Thanks again for all the responses.  Keep them coming.  Being new to the headphone amp (and tube) scene I'm trying to get as much info as I can about this.

thanks again,

scott
