Portable amps for grados

Hey guys

So since my computer version dac (I converted an old computer into a dac + amp with a bit of programming) cooked, I'm looking for a new amp. However, I need this one to be more portable.

I'm running with SR80is, ATH-AD700s, and TF10s.

I need one PORTABLE amp that can easily drive all three to the maximum of their abilities (yes, i know the ATH-AD700s are easy to drive out of a comp, but i want to squeeze as much performance and quality out of all of my headphones. Thus, an AMP + DAC would work well.)

Any Suggestions?

Thinking about

HeadRoom Total Bithead/Airhead

Fiio E7

Please note, my source is going to be a rockboxed ipod 160 gig/ ipod touch 4g 8 gig or a better source which may come to me as a gift.

The E7's amp won't bring out more in AD700 and TF10 (it will have quite the opposite effect, actually), and mostly likely not SR80 either.  You will get some hiss with TF10 + E5.

I am getting thumping bass with my modded SR60i and my new portable amp, but it cost over a hundred dollars more than your current choices - are you able to stretch your budget ?

Grados are more addicting with more current fed into them indeed.

depends. I have at most 300 dollars to spend on an amp + 1 carrying case (i'm planning to get the pelican cases, which are about 40 bucks with shipping.) I'm also modding my 4th pair of headphones in the future (sr60is: these are within the 300 USD budget too)

so now I have sr60s, sr80s, tf10s(might sell these. I prefer custom IEMs) and AD700s.

What's your suggestion estreeter?

Definitely try being patient - that 300 dollars will go a lot further in the FS forum and there are several FOTMs which are bound to end up there over the coming months.
