Anybody succesfully tried 192Khz playback with the HDP icon?

I am trying out a flac 24/192Khz file, but cannot get it to play on the HDP amp/dac. It is connected via optical out S/PDIF, it plays  24/44 24/48 24/96 perfectly fine.  Anybody succesfully tried it?  I'm running Windows 7, using the Realtek HD audio.

Are you sure that the sound card can output 192k? Are you using a proper 75 Ohm cable? Have you asked Nuforce about it?

Regardless, I'd honestly not bother, there'll be no benefit in trying to play such high-res files.

Ok, it's my laptops built-in soundcard.  Thanks!

You can bypas the sound card through a USB connection. Attach an  M2Tech HiFace (or other such device) USB Digital Audio Interface. Use the coax RCA end to connect to the HDP. Then set up WASAPI or kernel streaming like with a Media Monkey or foobar player. Yes, if you get a 192khz digital recording and play it through hi end head phones the clarity is something (96khz results are improved too)!!  My humble opinion. After posting have read so much it is more confusing but the consensus appears to support Currawong's comments. The sound difference I am hearing must all be the change to  WASAPI ? :)

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0210/m2tech_hiface_usb.htm      ps in media monkey you have to go through tools>options>configure WASAPI. If you have any problems you can contact Media Monkey . You do need the latest version.
