Filing/tagging albums with multiple artists in iTunes?

Thread Starter

Whenever I get (for example) a continuous DJ mix album, where each track has its own artist, I change every song's "artist" to the DJ's name so that I can have everything uniform.

Is there a way to keep each individual arist's track within the overall album but, not have each one of them listed in "artists" in itunes?

Wondering how people put "multiple artist" albums into itunes and if there are any tips/tricks on importing anf filing them.

I have everything in list view, no album art, and sorted by album.  Nothing gets separated that way, but that's just me and I only ever use that configuration.  Track/disc numbers help as well in organization.

Hey, I listen to a lot of DJ mix compilations as well, Here's what I do with such albums.

Set Artist to the original/real artist.

Set the Album Artist to the DJs name

Check the box that says 'Part of Compilation' (on the first tab when editing multiple items, on the last tab when editing a single item.)
