Cypher Labs AlgoRhythm Solo - Discussion and Impressions Thread - Page 110

Do you miss the balanced capability in going with the R? I'm thinking one day I might want to go with some balanced phones. Also, won't there be a difference taking a balanced input right from the CLAS to the amp? I am weighing the options on keeping everything as SE since all my phones that way. Just trying to look to the future when I know upgraditis takes hold. Any opinions?

And I agree the Pico is a wonderful amp. Not looking to part with it. That's why I'm toying around different ideas to keep it in my stable. The issues on the CLAS were from a couple years ago for early models when you'd get cutoff and static on the amp. Sounds like that has been addressed and remedied...

I have no interest in going balanced portable.

I just purchased the CLAS R for a decent discount at Moon Audio. Can't wait to try this. Will see how it hooks up with the Pico Power.

Just got the CLAS R and hooked it up. About to leave on holiday so won't get too much time to listen. I will follow up with some impressions later.

Sorry if this has already been covered but this thread is too long for me to review:   Is the Solo -R being discontinued?  It's still listed on Cypher Labs website but it seems less available.  Thanks.

Either it is available or it's not. Which is it?

I'm afraid I can't answer your question. I suppose you've like me noted that it is listed among their products but not in their shop. Drop them a mail (help@cypherlabs.com) and let us know. Thanks!

Moon Audio sells them and is available. I don't think they'd stop making it since it is really popular but the db is taking the limelight due to its balanced input/outputs.

Well that's great! What phones do you use with this rig, and in what way or in what ways do find your new setup to sound better? Do you go single ended or balanced? What cables? Thanks!

Are you referring to Fostex HP-8A/C ? I had cypher labs -db and didn't impressed me at all with sr71b.
My old burson ha 160ds (full size amp) sounded way better for the similar or cheaper amount of invested money. Maybe it was the sr71b but cypher labs dac didn't really impressed me.

I might try A&K Dap player or chord hugo,
