I also do not experience the problem mentioned here pairing my CLAS-db with either the ALO MKIIIB or with the new modified Ray Samuels SR71B.

What are the dimensions, really just how thick?  I have the Fostex and got a new amp and am ready to either sell it or shelf it for the new amp with the solo -R.  I think the solo is pretty much smaller/thinner.

I had the HP-P1 and I'm pretty certain that the SOLO is much thinner, in terms of length it's, I think, either smaller or barely the same size but I'm not 100% on the length since I don't have the HP-P1 anymore. Sound-wise the CLAS is way better than the Fostex. 

Really, i thought that they were similar in SQ

I have the CLAS, and the HP-P1 and not close, I was going to sell the HP? but in the end it goes very very well along with my HD600s! and that's about it? for everything else I like the CLAS ALOT more over the HP, better synergy!

I had the -R for a while and really was falling love with that? but it would only play for 1 out of my 3 amps? sound cuts out when I turned up the volume? ggrrr ugh! lol, I will get it again after the fix,

I thought they had fixed that issue.

Edit- well reading back maybe not, or waiting for new shipments.  Hopefully they have fixed the -R too.  Just emailed CL and a distributor.  If i hear from them and it is done then i will join the club.

My solo-r just arrived and I tested it with l3, pico power and sr71a. All three drives the HD800 to unlistenable loudness without sound cut off or lost of one channel. Also the solo does not work with rockboxed ipod classic, have to restore the system with itunes to get it to work.

I just ordered an updated model of the -R.  Probably will sell the HP-p1 fostex just because I am now using a separate amp.  Thinking I will feed both into my Zana Deux amp with different iPods playing the same song synced and do an instantaneous switching to see what difference there is in SQ, if any.  With that amp into HD800s the contrast should be noticeable.

congrats. Updated? Sounds like this update has taken cared of the bugs we're experiencing. Got mine from Moon. Did you order from them too? Thanks.

The updated version of the -R is  2-4 weeks off from what i understand.  They were in the process of exchanging one with that issue and they had an extra which i seemed able to procure but i won't get my hands on it for about a week.  It appears that I am getting the extra from that replacement run maybe and am not even sure of the color yet, but whatever works is good for me.  I have no other knowledge, this is just what i have been able to figure out from our exchanges.  After getting the Pico Power, it is such an upgrade over the Fostex amp that I am not sure i will ever use that amp section again, unless in a squeeze.

By the way, David at CL was very helpful and very responsive, what a great company.  Had i known, i may have gone for that dac originally, I was just being lazy at the time and didn't want to carry quite that big of a brick of toys around so got the combo dac/amp HP-P1.
