I've been going through redownloading my collection in FLAC format or re-ripping from CD (based on convenience). My latest find was Pendulum's stuff. Mind you i'm on rather crap hardware, built in asus eee 1215n sound card going to bose on-ear headphones. Its not like they sound bad or anything, but they have no sound stage to speak of and compared to even monster turbines standard edition they have next to no clarity. I'd say the best comparison to them would be something like Senn CX300's or Creative EP-630's in terms of sound. You can feel the bass from these because of the driver size but apart from that they are nothing special. they get the job done and the breakaway cable feature is rather handy.
Anyways, I remember stopping listening to pendulum because i kept thinking "man, thers not much drum and bass considering this is a drum and bass band." well now i'm listening to the flac version instead of the hastily converted 320kbps mp3 joint stereo version. its one of those eye opening moments, like "holy crap, THIS is what i've been missing the entire time?!"
Just wondering what yours were like
