Well no, it was my computer honestly. Sounds better than Clip+ but there is one problem, I hear hiss when there is no music. Apart from that, it is pretty good. The hiss is no big deal either, it is there only when there is no music so it doesn't bother me.

Does your wife enjoy the SE-3s?

She does...but she is not really sooooo picky so I cannot tell you what they are worth.

Nice that your wife accepts to use ciems and audiophile toys. I am dieing to buy high quality c/iems for my girlfriend, she refuses to use anything costs more than 20 30 euros. At the end I bought her a Sennheiser CX150. She is probably happier than me.

The thing is, she is not very serious about music like me, she uses her iems only for listening to online radio when she is at office. So no big deal but still when I get a job after the master, I am buying her a nice ciem. She is not aware of it though, yet.

Actually she has much better ears than me but cannot be bothered with anything else than an IPC with MP3. She accepted the SE3 because she wanted the isolation and comfort of silicone ciem because her ears are VERY small and normal iems do not hold in place.

I was imagining the SE3s to be rather large as well? So your SE5s are really double the size? lol

Maybe not double. They are much smaller mostly because she has small ears and small ear canals.

I offered my girlfriend a custom as well; she listens to a lot of music but she's not interested.  I got her an RE-400 so she could appreciate some level of quality.  Women.rolleyes.gif

I also offered her RE400 since she wants something she can easily put in and take out, basically cables down housing is best for her. I was thinking RE400's price should be okay but she said, she won't need 100 euros iems so she kindly refused.

Mim, maybe your wife can do some talking to my girlfriend happy_face1.gif I just can't get her interesting in music a bit more. Although she likes some special bands and all (Depeche Mode, U2 etc), she is not a serious listener. I tell her that she will hear much better and she will even like DM and U2 more but... I feel like I am trying for nothing.

You do not really care if your wife wants high end gear...actually it would become quite expensive to have two audio maniacs in the house. Where mine rocks is that she actually listens to my boring stories about ciems and DAPs and cables and who said what on headfi. What a saint.

She'd be a good psychologist then. happy_face1.gif

Look, if she's not spending her 'secret purchases' on high-end audio gear, she'll be spending it on Jimmy Choos, so it might as well be on something you can share, publicly, rather than something you can only share in the privacy of your own home! wink_face.gif

Wait, so you get to try them on before she buys them?

I'm looking forward to hearing a couple more reviews/comparisons.

They've been a bit thin on the ground, this past few months, even though I'm sure people have still been buying the SE-5 all that time.
