Headphones for a Gamer

Hello there, guys! I am looking to buy some new headphones for my sessions as I will apparently will not always be always to use my home theater for a few months and still want that great sound. I review a lot of games for a site that are typically action-oriented so superb quality is a must. I like some good bass but that's incredibly important, and as far as my musical tastes are concerned, they range pretty wide but I typically listen to a lot of classic rock and things of that nature.

I am a big Sennheiser fan, so my choices basically boil down to a PX200-II, HD448, or an HD595. What would you guys recommend for a headphone with a good sound stage? Thank you!

So... the HD595's then? Since they're a step down from the 598's? lol

What about Beyer's? DT990's.

Sorry, that's far outside of my budget. I am trying to keep it at about $100. They do look really nice, though!

I personally love the JVC HaRX900's. Nice soundstage and good bass. (you can also mod them to improve soundstage)

If you must pick a sennheiser, it would be the HD595 out of what you listed, if not then get a Beyer DT770 / 880 / 990

your choice, I wouldn't touch anything else for enjoyment in gaming, but for pinpoint accuracy I would only be using the sennheiser MX980 or the Audio Technica AD700

ATH AD-700

Sure, but I am sort of torn between the 3 that I put in my first post that I narrowed myself down to. Any opinion on those for gaming, movie watching, and some music?

AD700 will probably be out of the question since he wants good bass.

No, if he wants good bass he would avoid the ad700, the ad700 is bass light and muddy

That's what I said though.

So far, I've heard that the HD448 is a premium midrange product, while the HD595 is a low highrange product. Is that pretty accurate? lol

448 = no bass too. IMO it has even less then the AD700
