May be a while. My birthday is in a few months so june at the latest.
Instead of spending 20$ now I may just save up and get something that might last me a few iterations of headphones if possible..

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

You could get either a PA2V2, one of the best entry amps, way ahead of Fiio E5, or spend less than double and get Fiio E9, which is a desktop amp.
I might save up and get the E9.
(May be wrong) but, it looks like it should be able to handle anything I may get in the future..
I don't plan on upgrading soon.. or near soon but, assuming the amp doesn't go out itself.. it would probably last me an incredibly long time with little need to upgrade..

I don't believe it can drive orthos, or things like K702 and such, but then again, that is to be expected due to its price. Not that price should be a reference to quality itself, but it helps to understand more or less its place on the quality ladder.
I consider upgrading my amp eventually, but for now I'm happy to be ordering a pair of Pro 900. Later I'll see what upgrade path might be good.
Are the K701s harder to drive than k601s?
Then again, even if have to upgrade amp/headphones at the same time.. so be it but, I want to have as many options as possible when I get that amp.
I am still really hoping this will last me until I am in a much better financial situation..
Then again 2 years is a long time >.<;

Not sure. E9 can power plenty of headphones, but keep in mind that being able to power them enough doesn't mean the amp itself is as clear as some amp would like it to be.
But due to recent situations, I understand you far too well.
So when is the X-Fi supposed to arrive?
The headphones/mic will arrive monday unfortunately due to differences in order time the sound card will arrive on friday ETA.
I am hoping since I've usually had pretty good experience with UPS, it will show up maybe wednesday.
Its USPS which I get less packages from.. so assuming they are accurate friday.
