I think the beats are great...... for when they are wrapped around ones neck
the rest of the time ah-d2000's will do me just fine

Beats are the best.  That's why they start it with a "B".  Nike is also really good even though it doesn't start with a "B", they make some high quality T shirts and they pay their workers well.

I replaced my Beats drivers with Bose drivers and now they sound so sweet. I re-cabled with high speed Monster HDMI (don't ask me how, I just DID IT)

 

I am +/- 2dB @ 2 Hz and +/- 1 bB at 97.2 kHZ.......................-90dB 300 Hz to 15kHz

 

I love em!

I do think that in the long run beats and other cans like it will be beneficial to th head-fi community. the people who "stunt" these would mostly not give a second thought to headphones until they are much older. Headphones like these are opening the doors to a whole new generation. They won't have beats forever!

thats a good way to look at it. headphone popularity rises = people will eventually realize beats suck and upgrade.
