i will receive next week my hifiman 602 and a TMA-1, to have the best sytem do i need to add a portable amp or do my 602 will drive correctly my TMA-1.

If you think it will be better to add a portable amp, which one will you buy?

No, you shouldn't need anything else. The TMA-1s are pretty easy to power, and the 602 should give you more than enough. It's pretty much one of the most powerful stand alone DAPs out there.

I would suggest a straight cable for the TMA-1 though. It only comes with a coiled one, and it's pretty terrible for portable use.

My favorites that I've found are the KitSound 1m 3.5mm Interconnect and the Ultrasone Short cable. AIAIAI sells a straight cable for the TMA-1, but at 1.5m it's just too long (IMO). I find myself using my Ultrasone Short cable the most.

Ultrasone:
Feels like a quality cable
Matches the cans quite well
Bigger jacks make it a little more cumbersome feeling sometimes
Little shorter than 1m

KitSound:
Low profiles jacks are great
1m seems like the sweet spot for length
Feels a little cheap
Cable has a 'stiff' feeling
