Klipsch 2.1 Pro-Media Crackling Speakers

When I play dub-step, or anything with a bass drop in it, there is a slight-soft crackle (a kind of static sound), every time it drops to the heavy bass in the speakers. Is this normal with cheap-ish speakers like the Klipsch? Or have they broken or something? Do they need more power? Is it something wrong with the audio-quality of my music? Could it be interference? or a problem with the 1/8th jack on my computer? Thanks guys.

I used to have the Klipsch 2.1 system, I don't remember hearing anything like this.  Is this a problem that came up just recently?

Maybe something is loose.

Hmmmm.... i took one of them apart, but there is nothing that can be loose. its just a speaker attached very tightly by 4 screws.
Oh and its a new problem. I have just noticed it.
Maybe I'll take it back to Best Buy over the summer when i have a car and exchange it for a new one.

possibly to do with the source the speakers are connected to; if possible try the speakers with a different/better source to check if the crackle it's still there with the same tracks.

Possibly is your 1/8 connector some are better than others but not too many of the built in ones are very great. A sound card upgrade to a audiophile grade card would be better and probably give you the option of much more secure RCA connectors. As well as EF/RF shieldng and upgraded DAC's
