Horrible headphones sound better after prolonged listening? - Page 2

I use a variety of headphones throughout the day while doing different things. I enjoy all of my headphones even though they are at different levels in terms of performance. If I go straight from a pair of $300 headphones to something $20 earbuds, yea, the first few minutes can be somewhat grating, but I find that I eventually begin to appreciate what I like about the earbuds that made me keep them in the first place. Headphones, like other products, are not subject to a rigid set of absolute qualifications - they can sound different while being subjectively just as good as each other.

If you can find musical satisfaction with cheap IEMs, then you are a fan of the music more than the hifi, which is what I think all audiophiles should be.

i can understand this as i have some cheap panasonic iems hje120, and i actually find my self really enjoying them and sometimes prefer them to my shure srh840. i find this funny because they were $10. maybe i am more a fan of the music then the gear.

Your right on that one Prog, when You are really focused on what Your doing Your listening and enjoying the music but maintaining Your concentration on the task at hand. When a song You truly like come's on, You can zone into that song and lose that concentration for a bit. It's been said listening to music while studying help's to absorb more information True or False?  What Every One's take on this!

My studies were in silence. Music was way too distracting.
