Songs about serious drinking

Thread Starter
I just caught Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do" on the radio. It's about hardcore drunks and implies that the serious drinkers really aren't having fun, despite the song's refrain.

That reminded me of an old favorite - "Daddy's Drinking Up Our Christmas," by Commander Cody. Also reminded me of George Thorogood's classic "One Shot, One Bourbon, One Beer," and Lefty Frizzell's "Sick, Sober and Sorry."

So I thought it might be fun to start a thread about hard drinking songs. What's your favorite song about having a few drinks? This doesn't have to be about country, anything that references hard drinking is appropriate.

The Doors - Alabama song comes to mind. The Wild Rover is a good one as well.

The Pogues "Gartloney Rats" and there's another one about being drunk on a ferry that I can't find at the moment.

"Since I Started Drinkin' Again" by Dwight Yoakam.  There's another one by BR5-49, but I can't remember exactly which one now.  Something about going to the store to buy some bread and being distracted by the smell of beer.

Erice Clapton's " Bottle of Red Wine"

Not to throw off the thread but would it be nice to add drug related songs also? There are plenty of those. "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" being my favorite. Clapton's cover of "Cocaine" being another.

My personal favorite is "The King is Gone...and so are You" by George Jones.  It's a quintessentially country song about a man who is sitting around his now empty apartment after his woman has left him, with nothing but a "Jim Beam decanter that looks like Elvis" and a "Flintstone jelly-bean jar".

The chorus:

"Ah pulled the heyd awff Eyl-vis...filled Freyd uh-up to hi-is payelvis...Yabba Dabba Doo!  The king is gaw-aw-awne....and so are you."

"Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee" - Stick McGhee OR Jerry Lee Lewis (…"pass that bottle to me"…)

"Red Red Wine" - UB40 (written by Neil Diamond, though I don't much care for his version)
