I still don't see how C2 is better than a D2, which put a huge 64gb card into (I suppose c2 is smaller and maybe looks better)

It was the Cowon D3 android DAP I was talking about not the D2

I know, I'm just railroading the thread into D2 vs C2 biggrin.gif ...

As for D3, I don't really see the point, since it doesn't have a phone module (for that form factor and OS) and even without it, the battery life's not great...

I think the D3 is Cowon's "halo"-product, or lets say the entry into the world of Android. If the D3 would not run android, it would be much faster and the battery life would be greater. It is Android that is slowing the D3 down. With, for example Rockbox, the CPU could be run at 200 Mhz or less and still would give best performance.

 

At the moment there is not really a point in buying the C2, if you already have the D2, but there is the possibility, that the D2 will be discontinued and the C2 will move into the light...

This review has definitely something of a scientific article. Very impressive (the review). Kind of boring (the player).

Plus, the price has returned to a respectable level for even me to find it an excellent recommendation (on Amazon here in the USA): Cowon C2 - 16 GB

I just took my Cowon O2 out of where I put it and god, I really prefer it over my Zune 80. If only the interface wasn't so boring to use and if it was lighter it would be really good.

 

Now i'm tempted by the C2 but the J3 and S9 could also be an alternative. Right now here are my choices:

 

C2 16gb + microsd 32gb

J3 16gb + microsd 32gb later

S9 32gb

 

The J3 is really too expensive, I hope that its price will go down. Also I would like to know if SQ wise, the J3 is really better than the C2 because of the portability of the last one.

 

But if the C2 got an interface as crappy as the O2, it's a no-win for me.

 

Does anyone had both and can make a comparison between O2 and C2 ?

The O2 is even worse than the C2. Only the V5 is worse than both of them. Probably the X7 too, but I haven't tried it personally.

 

The J3 is definitely worth the money over the other ones, firmware/UI-wise, and cause of its tactile buttons (not to mention the screen).

I prefer the S9 over the J3 as far as the layout goes, the J3 also took quite a long time to boot up with 32 gb internal and 32 gb external. You are right about the J3 being expensive I just hAppened to be looking at amazon this weekend and jetmall had the S9 32 gb model on sale for 204.99 so I picked up the las one that they had in stock. You may want to check them out to see if they have any more back in yet.
