Question about building a DIY HD-580 Cable.

Thread Starter

I tryed searching the forums, but couldn't find a good answer to my question. I'm building a DIY cable for my HD-580's with some Canare quad conductor cable, Neutrix 1/4" Jack, Cardas HD580 earcup connectors.

I wanted to ask the guru's here how they deal with connecting the braided shielding to the connector(Diagram shows how I have it setup). Additionally I wanted to make sure that wiring this way is acceptable, and will work!

Thanks in advance for any help, I apologize for the ghetto diagram, its the best i could draw up!

Materials

1) Canare L-4E5C Cable (8ft)

2) Neutrix NP3X Stereo Phone Plug

3) Cardas Senn Connectors.

Connect the shielding to ground in the Neutrik plug.
