Hey Hows It Going, Im a 22 Male and Ive Find Mind Self More Interested into Music Listening. I Use to Pirate all My Music but Was Offended With the Quality. Ive Recently Started Purchasing All My Music Through Itunes, Noticed Quality Right Off The Bat and In Doing So Want To Improve My Means of Listening. Im Deffintaley Into House,Trance,Dubstep and Ambient Music. I Love Relaxing Closing My Eyes and Listening to Music. Ive Purchased a HDJ 2000 by Pioneer(They Come In Wednesday) , Ive Gone Though Reviews and Heard Nothing Bad About Them. Im Trying to Read Up on So Much Information to Understand and Process all This Information. I Currently Listen to Music Through My Desktop PC, Netbook, Iphone. ATM Im trying to Figure Out If I Should Buy a Soundcard for My Desktop. And Wondering How Good My Ipod Will "Drive" My HDJ2000. Also the Best Format for Music. Hope to Enjoy the Community. This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

Yeah, the best you can do is to buy your music...avoid piracy always.
From what i know, the pioneers you have are solid build and have a nice SQ. Honestly, i don't know how hard they are to drive.

Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet.
The HDJ 2000 is a great way to start. The build quality is excellent, and it's fairly neutral (which is a fun place to get an idea of sound). Bang for your buck though, you can do better.
Honestly, they should be just fine straight out of your iPod and what not. They're pretty easy to drive.
Format wise? I stick to 320 MP3 and FLAC. 320 MP3 is going to be your best sound/space format (IMO), and FLAC (as well as a few others) will be your go to 'best of the best' and hard drive space be damned format. Anything below 320 MP3 you will start to notice, although those HDJ 2000s are pretty forgiving with lower quality MP3s.
Enjoy them, but I'd honestly suggest a different headphone pretty soon.
EDIT: I would avoid buying from iTunes. Find a good (Non DRM) download site, or just buy CDs. I much prefer CD to download because you can rerip as many times as you want for different formats.
