Regarding source for iPod/iPhone speakers.

Recently I bought a Logitech pure-fi anywhere 2. The source I'm using is a 4g iPod Nano.

In EU, they've put on this volume limit into the latest Ipods. That's all iPod's except for ipod touch (I think), also I think it only exists in either since the 2g or 3g but I do know it exists in the Nano I have (4g).

Now to my question; Does the source i put into my logitech speaker decide what the max volume will be? Because I know the max volume with my ipod nano connected isn't the max for the speakers itself. For portability I use the sansa clip+ and an e5 amp. If I connect these through the line out, the sound is way higher. So, will the volume get any higher by getting maybe an ipod touch? Or doesn't it matter what source I have?

Thanks!
