Tube or SS Amp for IEM?

Which do you guys prefer, and why?

I much prefer solid state amps for IEMs as most IEMs are low impedence, and their drivers will be better controlled with solid state vs. OTL.

I have Elekit TU882:

  • Vacuum tube / 5670W×2
  • Rated output / 200mW(RL=6Ω or 32Ω or 600Ω)
  • Output impedance / LOW 4~20Ω、MID 20~100Ω、HIGH 100~1kΩ
  • Rate input / 400mV
  • Input resistance / 50kΩ
  • Frequency response / 20Hz~50kHz
  • S/N 102dB(IEC WEIGHTING)
  • Voltage / AC120V 50/60Hz
  • Dimension / W130×H120×D250mm
  • Power consumption / 10W
  • Weight / 2.4kg
  • Made in Japan

I've listened to it at low impedance setting, with my MTP coppers, and it sound phenomenal!  Tube can sound good on IEMs.  No?  Is what I'm experiencing defying the laws of electronics?  If so, explain. I'm curious.

Does Elekit TU882 have output transformer?

^^ No its a tube hybrid so it can work very well with low impedance stuff.

I highly recommend tube amp for IEMs, its like butter.  So smooth and rich.  mmmmmmmmmm  I some solid state amps, but they are so harsh.

I like to take my IEMs out with me and still have them amped.  I went for Ray Samuels Audio P-51 Mustang.  It's solid state, it's small, and it does a phenomenal job.  No regrets.
