Hey guys in a few days i'd be buying a line out dock for my SANSA FUZE V2. It will be the one from Fiio (L6 i guess). Now, i know that the caps on the dock are not the best, so i an planning on using the dock for a few days and then modding it with the following:
i) better caps
ii)silver cable
iii) good connector
following are my questions about the above
i)CAPS
the tutorial i read about the diyLOD for the Fuze, incorporated Nichicon ES, and Blackgate Bipolar Caps.they were electrolytic, but, arent electrolytics bad in signal path? What are my other options about the caps here?please specify brand and values too.i was thinking of Wima caps (polypropylene) for mine.
ii)SILVER CABLE
as said above, i'd be recabling the LOD.i live in India, so there's no other option then ebay.but i dont have any experience with silver cables and dont know what seller to buy from so that i get legitimate silver cable.can anyone provide links to good, legit sellers here? I know the concept of rating the seller on ebay, but what if a high rated seller sells non legit wire & the buyer doesnt even know?
iii)CONNECTORS
now all over head fi, people have fancy gold plated connectors.where do i buy one from?or what seller on ebay sells these legit?
Also, i'd like to know, would solder matter here?i mean, i buy top quality silver wire, top quality connectors, and the solder i use is low quality and adds resistance.does that happen?i really want top notch LOD here.
