I'd rate my Rockboxed Sansas as equal to my Touch and i9, and equal to the E345 and S545 Sony players I had. They're clearly better than the Creative Zen Mozaic and Nano 2G that I had before though.....looking forward to comparing them to the S639 I have coming.

Edit....forgot about my Samsung Q2....in the "equal" category. All the equal players, I'm referring to using their EQ's and other enhancements, and the headphone-out only, no LOD's.

My sister bought a Sansa Clip + after recommendation from me. I decided I'll listen to it with my RE0's. It sounded warm, maybe a bit veiled. But I can't clearly remember, didn't play with the EQ at all. It wasn't rockboxed. I'm comparing this against my iPhone 2G 16GB, the same recording that I used with the Sansa (except encoded at the same bitrate in FLAC form) that I heard sounded less warm, and wasn't as veiled, the highs sparkled more.

I don't think the Sansa Clip + sounded audibly 'worse', however it did sound different. This is like comparing two high end headphones, they always both have their traits and pluses, but they are usually level and very consistent at that when it comes to quality. But, after saying that, I can tell you for sure that the Sansa Clip + shows up to be excellent value for money.

However, because I prefered the iPhone 2G's sound, I will have to vote that I liked it's sound better. This is very much a subjective hobby and while I found quality to be the same. I found that I liked the iPod sound better.

I have an 8gb Fuze V1, clip 2gb, clip+ 4gb, and my iphone 4. I prefer my iphone 4 over any of the Sansa DAP because the iphone sound more spacious and refined. The Sansas are definitely are a killer bang for the buck though and I definitely can't tell the difference if I just use them on the go instead of actually sitting down and comparing them. I have a 6th gen 8gb nano coming in the mail tomorrow or the day after, I'll post some impressions also.

There is no option in the poll for "it is just as good as other DAP's"(as I posted) so the poll results are a bit misleading. That's why I didn't vote in the actual poll.

I wouldn't be surprised if  some of those who voted "I do not prefer Sansa after listening to other DAPs" might feel like I do, that they are just as good but not better....also, your poll doesn't reflect any value-for-price quotient either.

I didn't vote either, as I find the clip+ w/Rockbox equal to other DAP's as well. And the voting system is flawed - so the results are useless,... 

And BTW: Remove the picture you posted, as there are women on this site who would find it offensive,...

Seriously,  Sansa DAP is highly overated by some user in this forum.
