I was just wondering but can either of these soundcards do a 2.1 or 5.1 setup using all balanced connections? 2.1 is fine I/m just curious if the Focisrite can do 5.1 if i ever decide to get a 5.1 setup.
I have a x-fi forte and was wondering if i can use x-fi forte SPDIF Out-->Emu 0404 SPDIF or to the Scarlett's SPDIF to pass along some of the gaming sound features i get with the forte?
I haven't bought the Emu or Focusrite yet in fear of it not working with both games and music well.
My speakers are Macie mr5's and i will be adding a sub later.
