I miss my T1 so much, I just posted in your video.  I miss my Kal El so bad :[

Really good actually. But not my favourite tubes (JJs). They can come off a bit too clinical. But the great thing with a tube amp (or hybrid I guess) is that is easy to change. I prefer the Lyr with the T1/H800s to my Concerto by a small margin (that's with the Genalex Gold Lion tubes).

Does the LYR give good fast punchy bass and sweet mids for the T1 with the GL upgraded tubes? I know the GL tubes are pretty sweet sounding.

Absolutely....but I still prefer my WA2 (with tricked out tubes) with the T1s...simply amazing synergy here.

MacedonianHero,

Is the difference very large? I just ordered the Lyr to pair with my T1. Just in case i have my sights on the Ortho cans in the future.

I heard the Valhalla with the T1, and then the Lyr with the T1 and to my ears, the Lyr with the T1 was just more powerful sounding. It had alot more grip on the T1 then the Valhalla has.

Also, how is the treble on the T1 with the Lyr? On my current Darkvoice 336 SE paring with the T1, it is simply too harsh and spiky to listen to.

The stock tubes on the Lyr aren't very dynamic. They're quite flat and unassuming, but very refined. Great for neutral heads, but won't particularly invoke a lot of excitement. So I agree 100% with Macedonian Hero. The main aspect where the stock tubes will excite you in is the punchy bass area. They do exceptionally well there.

Depends for you....I'll say that the WA2 is the most synergistic amp I've heard the T1s with and simply amazing with the HD800s. The Lyr is a fabulous amp with both of these dynamic cans, but it will remain my "ortho" amp just the same.

Roger that...i'm probably getting the HE-4 to play with after i get the Lyr. Either that or some Fostexs just for fun..either way, i don't think i'd be losing out much by pairing the Lyr with the T1!

PLEASE do. I miss my DT990s, but want something more refined. I feel the T1 would be it, but I think I'd miss the sweet, sweet bass of the DT990. The T1 would need to have similar bass quantity for me.

I feel that the T70 is about 80% to the T1.
