Schitt Lyr or MAD EAR + Purist for Grado RS1

I know everyone says MAD EAR  and the Grado RS1 are match made in heaven but the Schiit Lyr price and build looks really appealing.

Anyone have both?  or Heard both?

I'm wondering the same. The Asgard is great with Grados (SR225 / HF2, I'm sure RS1 too), but what about the Lyr? And has anyone specifically compared it with the MAD EAR?

The MAD Ear+HD is the best amp I've heard the RS1/RS1i from. I sold it off when I sold off my Grado cans, but the Lyr is not the ideal amping solution for low impedance dynamic headphones. Low impedance orthos on the other hand....L3000.gif

I didn't care for the Lyr with either the RS-1 or HF-2. Sound quality was OK, though not as good as either a Mapletree or a WA6/6SE, and the usable volume range was rather small.

If you see a good deal on a Mapletree, jump on it.
