I grew up in Hawaii and for lunch we used to have curry stew made with either prawns or beef and potatoes, carrots and onions. Never cared for the shrimp--I used to swallow it whole cause I couldn't chew it. But my mom's beef curry stew is the best--albeit she used that cube stuff that looks like chocolate. Yum! We have curry lunch wagons and curry shops here in the Financial District of San Francisco. I think I'll eat there for lunch today! Thanks!
