ASUS Xonar Essence STX - Only sound from 1 left channel

 installation on the Xonar Essence STX I plugged my headphones into the jack, switched it to headphones mode, and I am only getting sound out of one channel (the left). When I run the tests, that say "Left Front, Right Front", both phrases come out of the left channel.
